PRE-INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
- Before applying the hot fix, please follow the instructions in SAS Note 35968
to generate a SAS Deployment Registry report, then verify that the
appropriate product releases are installed on your system.
The software components and release numbers should match the list of
software components updated by the individual hot fix
installers.
- Backup the entire SAS Financial
Management 5.1 and SAS
Strategy Management 5.1 environments,
on all
tiers. This will entail stopping all SAS sessions,
daemons, spawners, and servers. Instructions for using the Metadata
Backup Wizard can be found in the SAS 9.2 Intelligence Platform System Administration Guide
in Part 4, Chapter 10.
The easiest method
is to use the Backup Wizard, but if this method is to be used, it is
imperative to ensure that the appropriate
User Credentials are used. Chapters 9 through 11 in the SAS 9.2 Intelligence Platform System Administration Guide cover all of the methods for
metadata backup.
If there are problems backing up the metadata, please contact SAS Technical Support's Metadata Support Team.
IMPORTANT NOTES
-
Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the
installation process.
However, SAS Technical Support strongly recommends that you back up your
system before applying updates to any software.
- You must have Administrator privileges on your CLIENT or
SERVER machine.
- All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and
servers (on the Data-Tier and the Mid-Tier) MUST be terminated
before applying this hot fix.
- This hot fix should be installed using the same userid that was used to
perform the initial software installation.
INSTALLATION
The installers downloaded are
B48002wn.exe and
B56001wn.exe.
- Copy B48002wn.exe
and B56001wn.exe
to each Windows machine where SAS Financial
Management 5.1 and SAS
Strategy Management 5.1 components are
installed.
- Execute B48002wn.exe
on each machine where SAS Financial Management 5.1 components
are installed.
- Execute B56001wn.exe
on each machine where SAS Strategy Management 5.1 components
are installed.
This will initiate the installation wizards, which will guide you
through the hot fix
installation process.
The installation process will determine which components of the release 5.1
SAS Performance Management Solutions
are installed on the machine, and will then apply the appropriate updates.
If components of these Solutions are installed on multiple
operating systems, you must download the hot fix for the appropriate
operating system(s) and follow the installation instructions provided
to complete the deployment of this hot fix.
See the Maintenance Installation Tool
(MIT) documentation for more details on the installation of hot fixes.
This completes the installation of the hot fixes.

UPDATE METADATA
The SAS Solutions Services Mid-Tier 5.1 portion of the Hot Fix requires
an update to metadata. To perform the metadata portion of
this fix, perform the following steps:
- Start the SAS Services on the Data-Tier (Metadata Server,
etc.)
- Logon to the MID-TIER with the same userid that was used to
install the SAS software
- Extract <drive>:\Program
Files\SAS\SASSolutionsServicesMidTier\5.1\Config\deploy\temp51.zip to the
root directory (such as C:\)
- The directories/files will be extracted to:
<drive>:\temp51\GroovyLoad
<drive>:\temp51\apache-ant-1.7.0
The
Ant environment is the standard Ant with four additional JAR files:
ant-contrib.jar
bsf.jar
commons-logging-1.1.jar
groovy-all-1.5.1.jar
- Edit the SDW.PROPERTIES
file located in:
<drive>:\temp51\GroovyLoad\Source\content\sdw.properties.
Only update the first four entries to match your environment.
For example:
omr.host=FULLY_QUALIFIED_HOSTNAME
omr.port=8561
admin.user=sasadm@saspw
admin.pass=PasswordPassword1
Note:
You should verify that you can open SAS Management Console with the
above admin.user and admin.pass values.
- Open a command window.
- Verify that the Java environment has been installed by
executing:
java -version
Java 1.6.0_XX should have been installed during initial deployment. If
the above command returns a "not recognized..." message, then add the
installed Java to the path:
For example:
set PATH=C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_16\bin;%PATH%;
Rerun "java -version"
to make sure the change to the PATH environment variable was successful.
- Set the ANT_HOME
environment variable
set
ANT_HOME=C:\temp51\apache-ant-1.7.0
- Update the PATH environment variable
set
PATH=%ANT_HOME%\bin;%PATH%;
- Change to the following directory:
cd
C:\temp51\GroovyLoad\Source\content
- Add the Cube,
DataExploration,
InformationMap,
and WebReportStudio
ContentTypes to the Solutions
Svcs 5.1 SoftwareComponent (update
ContentTypes) by running:
ant
installContentTypes
There should
be no
Java exceptions, and a BUILD
SUCCESSFUL
message should be displayed.
- Create the Add
to Portlet, Comment,
Link, Properties
and View
Directives for the new DataExploration and WebReportStudio
ContentTypes
under the Solutions
Svcs 5.1 SoftwareComponent by running:
ant
installDirectives
There should
be no
Java exceptions, and a BUILD
SUCCESSFUL
message should be displayed.
Note:
If you do not see a BUILD SUCCESSFUL for each ant command, open a HIGH
PRIORITY track with SAS Technical Support for assistance. Please include
the following information:
- Entire Ant build message(s)
- Output from "set <RETURN>"
REBUILD WEB

SET OPTIONAL
DIAGRAM PROPERTY (Optional)
Updates provided in this hot fix enable a new property,
Diagram.AllowAnalysis.
The
Diagram.AllowAnalysis
property controls whether to show analysis content in the diagram user interface (UI).
By default the analysis, when present, is shown in the diagram UI. To
override the default behavior, the property can be added to
SAS Strategy Management 5.1
Software Component Application Configuration metadata and
the property value string set to false. To revert back to the default
installed behavior of showing the analysis, the property values string
can be set to true.
Adding the
Diagram.AllowAnalysis
property is
optional
unless it is desired to change the default behavior.
To add the property to the Application Configuration in the SAS
Management Console, perform the following steps:
- Invoke SAS
Management Console (Start -> All Programs ->SAS
-> SAS Management Console 9.2) and log on with the Administrative
unrestricted userid, such as, sasadm@saspw.
- In the Plug-ins tab under Application Management expand
Configuration Manager to show the list of installed SoftwareComponents.
- Click your right mouse button on Strategy
Management 5.1 and select Properties to bring
up the Stategy Management 5.1 tabbed properties page.
- On the Advanced Tab click the Add button, and on the Define
New Property dialog enter:
Property Name: Diagram.AllowAnalysis
Property Value: false
Click OK
- In the list of properties at the bottom, verify that the
Diagram.AllowAnalysis property was added and click OK.
- Click OK on the Strategy Management 5.1 Properties page.
- For this property change to take effect, Remote Services and all
Weblogic application servers (with the exception of the
Admin Console server) will need to be restarted. This restart
can take place after all of the applicatons have been re-deployed (see
next section).
RE-DEPLOY WEB
APPLICATIONS
The following applications will need to be re-deployed:
- sas.financialmanagement5.1.ear
- sas.financialmanagementwde5.1.ear
- sas.strategymanagement5.1.ear
- sas.solutionsservices5.1.ear
- sas.solutionsodcs5.1.ear
To re-deploy these applications, perform the following steps:
- Start all of the SASServerX services on the Mid-Tier (where
X represents 1 through 5)
- Log on to the WebLogic Server
Administration Console
http://<HOSTNAME>:7501/console
- Under Domain
Structure, select Deployments
- One at a time, for each of the above applications, select
the application under the listed deployments
- Click the Update
button at the top of the Admin Console
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Once the "Selected
Deployments were updated." and "You must
also activate the pending changes to commit this, and other updates, to
the active system." messages are displayed, the changes
can be activated.
- The state of the application will change from:
"deploy initializing"
=> "prepared" =>
"Active"
- Click the Activate
Changes button in the top-left corner of the WebLogic Server
Administration Console
- Once all of the applications have been re-deployed,
stop the SASServerX services (where
X represents 1 through 5)
- Restart the SAS Remote/Foundation Services
- Restart all of the SASServerX services on the Mid-Tier,
beginning with SASServer1
This completes the deployment of Hot Fixes
B48002
and
B56001.
