Problem Note 40028: A SAS® Data Integration Studio client session becomes unresponsive when working in the Process Editor window
SAS Data Integration Studio can become unresponsive if the following sequence of events occurs when you use the application:

A SAS Data Integration Studio job is opened in the edit mode.

A connection to a SAS Workspace Server session is established. This typically occurs due to job execution, but can also be the result of other activities that take place once the job is opened.

This connection to the SAS Workspace Server session is lost. This is often the result of network issues or restarting the SAS Object Spawner.

Any action is taken within the product that requires communication with that SAS Workspace Server session. Some examples include attempting to run the job again or attempting to view the contents of one of the tables that is referenced in the job.
When the connection cannot be re-established, any attempt to save the job or exit the product results in a message similar to the following:
Unable to close running job. The job job-name is currently running and cannot be closed. Press Stop to cancel the run.
When you select OK, you cannot save or exit the job. The only option is to go to the Windows Task Manager and end the process that is associated with SAS Data Integration Studio.
