Problem Note 4893: "Zombie" processes left active on MVS using SAS/CONNECT spawner
If an MVS SAS/CONNECT spawner is used extensively, the server may
eventually have a number of leftover ("zombie") processes. Once
MAXPROCESS has been exceeded, no new processes can be started.
From MVS, you can enter the following command:
DISPLAY OMVS,U=userid
where USERID is the user ID initiating spawned connect sessions. The
output may show entries in state "1Z" which are under ASID 0.
