Usage Note 4496: SAS/SHARE server on OS/390 using $MVSOPTB2 or PRIODISP options degrades
performance
In Version 6 of SAS, it was recommended that SAS/SHARE servers on
OS/390 run with the $MVSOPTB2 internal option to alter how task
dispatching was handled. In Version 8, this option should not be used.
If it is used, adverse effects may be seen, such as slow performance.
Note that in Version 8 and above, MVSOPTB2 is an alias for the PRIODISP
option. Therefore, also ensure that NOPRIODISP (which is the default)
is in effect.
