Problem Note 4077: Running SAS in batch or with the -nodms option causes a secure shell
server to close client
When running SAS with the -nodms option and in batch under a secure
shell server on AIX, the client session will be terminated. This will
occur all of the time when using -nodms, and occur under batch when
there is an attempt to write to the terminal.
The reason for this is because SAS V8 and V8.1 do write() system calls
to write 0 bytes. Also, because of a defect in the AIX pseudo-tty
driver, the secure shell server interprets this as an end-of-file and
terminates the session. This appears to occur only under AIX.
This may also occur when running SAS in dms, although not with the
same frequency.
