In an OLAP-based crosstabulation table, the breadcrumb trail for drilled hierarchies is affected by which total options you have turned on.

For example, the following table is drilled into both a Geography Hierarchy and a Product Hierarchy.

If you turn on row subtotals, the breadcrumb trail for Product Hierarchy is removed. This action is taken because FURNITURE is now visible in the table, so the breadcrumb trail is not needed.

To drill up in the Product Hierarchy when the table is in this state, you would right-click the Product header, and select Up to Product type.

Other combinations of total options also affect the breadcrumb trail. For example, if you select visual row totals and the Itemize across hierarchies option, the Geography Hierarchy trail is removed because CANADA becomes visible in the table. In this example, to drill up in the Geography Hierarchy, you would right-click on the Region header and select Up to Country.
