Problem Note 39838: NullPointerException when viewing portlets if the application server is Oracle WebLogic 10.3 and patch ETR7 is not applied
If you deploy the SAS® Information Delivery Portal on Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3 and you do not apply the required WebLogic patch ETR7, the exception below might be displayed in the browser and occur in the WebLogic logs when viewing or searching portlets.
java.lang.NullPointerException
at weblogic.servlet.internal.ServletResponseImpl.setEncoding(ServletResponseImpl.java:1099)
at weblogic.servlet.internal.ServletResponseImpl.setCharacterEncoding(ServletResponseImpl.java:239)

To correct this problem, apply the required WebLogic patch ETR7 as stated in the pages that describe the minimum version requirements for Oracle WebLogic Server for use with SAS® 9.2 and SAS 9.2 (TS2M3):
