This SAS note provides information about solution support for Windows-to-Windows migration, UNIX-to-UNIX migration, and the Update Host Name References Tool.

In the following table, the "Windows to Windows Migration Release Available" column lists the release that each solution is able to support when moving from any Windows environment to any other Windows environment, using the automated migration tools (SAS^® Migration Utility /SAS^® Deployment Wizard ) to upgrade from SAS 9.1.3 to SAS 9.2.

The "UNIX to UNIX Migration Release Available" column lists the release that each solution is able to support when moving from any UNIX environment to any other UNIX environment, using the automated migration tools (SAS Migration Utility/SAS Deployment Wizard) to upgrade from SAS 9.1.3 to SAS 9.2.

The "Supporting Releases for the Update Host Name References Tool" column provides the release that each solution will support in the Update Host Name References option in the SAS^® Deployment Manager. Beginning with the third maintenance release for SAS 9.2, the SAS Deployment Manager includes an option called "Update Host Name References". This option provides an automated way to update references to server host names that are in your SAS deployment. The Update Host Name References Tool is supported by only certain SAS products and solutions.

The following table lists product releases that support (or will support) the Update Host Name References tool. If you have an earlier release of one of these products, or if you have a product that is listed as "not supported," then you should not use the Update Host Name References tool to update the machine names that are in your deployment. Use could cause the product to malfunction.
