If you are logging on to SAS Enterprise Miner for Desktop, you might get the following error:

Error creating bean with name 'ap:platformServicesConfiguration'
denied in file..access denied

This problem occurs when the user associated with the SAS Enterprise Miner for Desktop installation changed, but the emssn.config file was not edited accordingly.

To circumvent the problem, update your emssn.config file with the new password. Use this checklist to change the password for a single-user install of SAS Enterprise Miner for Desktop:

1. Launch SAS

   Start ► Programs ► SAS ► SAS 9.2 (English)

   In the program editor, specify your new password in quotes using PROC PWENCODE. For example, if you want your new password to be Password1, then use the following code:

        proc pwencode in="Password1";run;
        

   Generic Example:

        proc pwencode in="YOUR CURRENT DOMAIN\USER PASSWORD HERE";run;
        

2. Observe the encrypted password value that PROC PWENCODE creates in the SAS system log.

   Highlight and copy the encrypted password from this line. The encrypted password value consists of all non-blank characters beginning with the first curly brace. For example, highlight and copy:

        {sas002}6FE4B62647E0E59721B8CAD44A81057C 
        

3. Edit the emssn.config file, typically located in

   C:\SAS\EMDesktop\Lev1\AnalyticsPlatform\apps\EnterpriseMiner\conf\Emssn.config

   "EMDesktop" is the name of the installed plan (the name may vary from site to site).

4. In the emssn.config file, find a line that looks like the one below (with your domain and ID instead of "SASCARY\sas"). Update the password by replacing the password contents and saving the file.

        #new emssn with right userid 
        #Tue Sep 29 11:53:17 EDT 2009 
        em.singlelogin.userid=SASCARY\\sas 
        em.singlelogin.passwd={sas002}6FE4B62647E0E59721B8CAD44A81057C 
       

5. Use the new password to log on to SAS Enterprise Miner for Desktop.
