Problem Note 37003: An error occurs when you use the Hewlett-Packard Neoview driver 2.3.4 with SAS® 9.1.3
The following error message might be issued when you attempt to access Hewlett-Packard (HP) Neoview using HP Neoview ODBC driver versions prior to 2.3.4.
Error: Could not load /opt/product/sas/softwared/SAS_9.1/hotfix/sasexe/sasneo (56 images loaded)
Error: ld.so.1: sas.e9bc18: fatal: libgcc_s.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory
The error indicates that the system libgcc-3.4.6 package has not been installed. The system gcc libraries are a requirement of the HP driver. Hewlett-Packard has fixed this dependency in the 2.3 driver.
To resolve this issue for SAS 9.1.3, do one of the following:
- Install the gcc libraries 3.4.6 from http://www.sunfreeware.com/.
- Use the HP Neoview ODBC 2.2 driver. However, you must open a ticket with Hewlett-Packard technical support so they can port the fix to the 2.2 driver.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue. In addition to applying this hot fix, you must upgrade to the HP Neoview ODBC driver 2.3.4.

"SAS/ACCESS® Interface to HP Neoview has added support for the faster JNI Transporter interface." In addition to applying this solution in SAS Note 36258, you must also upgrade to HP Neoview driver 2.3.4.
