Installation Note 33916: An incorrect or invalid SAS installation data file (SID file) was used during installation and deployment
In the event of a failure in the license processing during installation,
return the machine to which you are installing to
a clean state, prior to attempting to install again with a valid license file.
To obtain a valid license file, contact your SAS account representative,
who can work with the Contracts Division.
To clean up your defunct SAS installation, follow these steps:
- Search for and delete all data sets that correspond to the high-level qualifier
chosen for your installation.
- Delete any content that is installed into the SASHOME location specified during the
installation. This content resides in UNIX System Services space.
- In UNIX System Services space, SAS application data is stored in the user
directory of the ID that is used during the installation. This content lives in a
hidden directory called .SASAppData and it should be removed as well.
- Do not delete content in the SAS Software Depot in the event of a
failed installation. The SAS Software Depot content can be reused, and saving that
content can save download and upload time, depending on the method used to
obtain SAS software.
- When re-installing SAS, be sure to point to the new SAS installation data file when
prompted for the license file by the SAS® Deployment Wizard.
Store this license file in your SAS Software Depot (however it can be stored
anywhere on the UNIX file system that is accessible by the SAS Deployment Wizard).
