Problem Note 30588: The user's My Folders location is different depending on whether SAS® Web Report Studio is invoked directly or from SAS® Information Delivery Portal
You might encounter the following problem when saving reports to your My Folders location in
SAS® Web Report Studio when running on a Windows operating system.
If all of the following three criteria are true, then you might see a difference in the name given to
your personal user folder under BI Manager in SAS® Management Console:
- SAS Information Delivery Portal and SAS Web Report Studio are configured for trusted Web authentication.
- SAS Information Delivery Portal is configured to use SAS Web Report Studio instead of
SAS® Web Report Viewer as the viewer of reports.
- The user ID that logs into SAS Information Delivery Portal and SAS Web Report Studio contains a
Windows-style domain.
Your personal user folder is located under
BIP Tree\ReportStudio\Users.
The difference depends on how SAS Web Report Studio is invoked.
When you invoke SAS Web Report Studio directly by typing the URL in the browser,
SAS Web Report Studio uses your user ID to create the personal folder in the report repository.
For example, if you log into SAS Web Report Studio as d1234\sasdemo user,
with d1234 being the
Windows domain name, your personal folder would look like:
/ReportStudio/Users/sasdemo
This is expected behavior. However, when you log into SAS Information Delivery Portal and select a
report, and you have selected SAS Web Report Studio to view your reports rather than SAS Web Report Viewer,
the personal folder created would include the username preceded by the Windows domain name. For example:
/ReportStudio/Users/d1234/sasdemo
This problem is related to the problem described in SAS Note
19235. In both cases, your personal folder is created with a slightly
different pathname, which causes reports saved to My Folders during a SAS Web
Report Studio session initiated by SAS Information Delivery Portal to be inaccessible to SAS Web Report
Studio when invoked directly because there are two different personal folders created.
