Problem Note 30548: Mappings and expressions are lost in job definitions when tables or external files are imported via partial promotion
If you import a partial promotion package file (.spk) that meets the following criteria, the
jobs that reference these tables or external files but are not included in the package file will lose all mappings and expressions to the columns within these tables or external files:
- The package file contains any tables or external files that already exist in the target metadata repository.
- These tables or external files are used in one or more job definitions that already exist in the target metadata repository.
- All these referencing jobs are not included in the package file that contains these tables or external files.
To avoid this issue you should only include tables or external files in partial promotion package files when changes have occurred in these tables or external files. In the case where changes require their inclusion, you must include all referencing jobs along with the tables or external files to prevent loss of mappings and expressions.
Note: If you are promoting jobs that include external files, please reference Problem Note #32704 for additional information.
