Problem Note 3449: IMS Data step and engine executions may experience a SA03 or S43E abend
during task termination
Beginning with Version 8 TS M0 it is possible for IMS Data step and
engine executions to experience SA03 or S43E abends during task
termination. Occurrences of the abend are sporadic and random and the
frequency of reoccurence will vary from site to site. In almost all
cases the failed job can be resubmitted and will execute and terminate
normally. In all cases, the task completes the work as the abends occur
during termination when the subtask created by SAS is being detached.
Depending on the frequency of use of the SAS/ACCESS Interface to
IMS-DL/I product, your site may or may not experience these abends.

This problem is fixed in Release 8.2 of the SAS System.
