Usage Note 21063: How to change the standard layout for Read-Only reports
It is not possible to globally change the default layout and have it automatically applied to every new SAS® Financial Management Read-Only report. However, you can modify the styles used by a specific SAS Financial Management report in Microsoft Excel, save those modifications (in a report called <StylesTemplate>, for example), and then merge the modified styles into any new SAS Financial Management report you are creating.
To create a new style, make the desired format changes to your report
(font size/color, background color, etc.). Once you complete the modifications,
- For Microsoft Excel 2003: Select Format > Style from the Microsoft Excel menu bar. In the 'Style Name' field, enter a name for the style you are defining, ensure that the items selected for 'Style Includes' are what you want, select Add, then select OK. Your new style has now been defined.
- For Microsoft Excel 2007: Select Styles > New Cell Style from the 'Home' option on the Microsoft Excel menu bar. In the 'Style Name' field, enter a name for the style you are defining, ensure that the items selected for 'Style Includes' are what you want, then select OK. Your new style has now been defined.
- For Microsoft Excel 2010: Select Styles > Cell Styles > New Cell Style from the 'Home' option on the Microsoft Excel menu bar. In the 'Style Name' field, enter a name for the style you are defining, ensure that the items selected for 'Style Includes' are what you want, then select OK. Your new style has now been defined.
Apply the new style to an Excel file (in a report called <StylesTemplate>, for example) and save the file.
To merge styles, you need to have both reports opened in the same Microsoft Excel session. In the new report,
- For Microsoft Excel 2003: Select Format > Style > Merge from the Excel menu bar. Select the template/report to merge the desired styles from (StylesTemplate, using the above example) in the merge dialog.
- For Microsoft Excel 2007: Select Styles > Merge Styles from the 'Home' option on the Microsoft Excel menu bar. Select the template/report to merge the desired styles from (StylesTemplate, using the above example) in the merge dialog and select 'OK'.
- For Microsoft Excel 2010: Select Styles > Cell Styles > Merge Styles from the 'Home' option on the Microsoft Excel menu bar. Select the template/report to merge the desired styles from (StylesTemplate, using the above example) in the merge dialog and select 'OK'.
