Problem Note 20285: The Update Table Metadata process terminates prematurely and generates a Java exception
The Update Table Metadata process fails to complete when hot fix bundle
E9BX01 is applied to the SAS installation that is on the SAS Workspace
Server. The product serverlog returns the following error message:
java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: ")"
The failed process is due to an issue with the Java code when you parse
the current hot fix installation information for the server.
The only workaround for this issue follows:
- Log directly onto the SAS Workspace Server machine.
- Navigate to the following folder:
<!sasroot>coresasexe
This folder should contain the following files:
uwuhotfi.dll
uwuhotfi.dll.000
- Rename uwuhotfi.dll to uwuhotfi.dll.new.
- Rename uwuhotfi.dll.000 to uwuhtofi.dll.
If you rename these files as outlined above, you get a return value for
the hot fix function that does not include the hot fix bundle
information. This circumvents the issue with the Java code and allows
the Update Table Metadata process to run to completion.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
