Problem Note 20145: Incorrect behavior during partial promotion export and missing content
under the BI Manager plug-in 1.4
When a repository is added in the SAS® Management Console Metadata
Manager (or in the Repository Selection window in the Metadata Profile
Wizard), the SAS® Data Integration Studio Custom tree object is created
with a TreeType attribute value of "EXPLORER" instead of a TreeType
attribute value of "BIP Folder". This is true when creating the initial
Foundation repository and subsequent repositories within a metadata
server.
With the introduction of partial promotion, all tree objects that
interact with the BI Manager plug-in version 1.4 for SAS Management
Console must have a TreeType attribute value of "BIP Folder".
Impact to the BI Manager plug-in version 1.4 for SAS Management Console
If a root tree does not have a TreeType attribute value of "BIP Folder",
the root tree does not show up within the BI Manager plug-in 1.4;
therefore, all the content under this tree is not accessible for
exporting or importing.
Also, if a sub-tree does not have a TreeType attribute value of "BIP
Folder", the folder contents will not be included in export processing
where object selection was made at a higher level in the tree structure.
The content under this sub-tree will be ignored.
The only way to resolve this problem is to manually change the TreeType
attribute value from "EXPLORER" to "BIP Folder" as follows:
- Launch SAS Data Integration Studio.
- Log into the repository that requires the change as an unrestricted
user.
- Select the Custom tab and expand the target repository.
- Select SAS Data Integration Studio Custom tree, right-click, and
select Properties.
- Go to the Advanced tab and change the value of the TreeType
attribute from "Explorer" to "BIP Folder" (without any quotes).
- Select Apply and click OK to save changes.
Note: Once the TreeType attribute has been modified, all issues are
resolved within the BI Manager plug-in 1.4 and SAS Data Integration
Studio.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
