Problem Note 2680: Existing permissions ignored when overwriting SAS data sets on UNIX
In V8 of the SAS System, file permissions for permanant SAS data sets
are always determined by utilizing umask. This includes overwriting
existing data sets whose permissions may have been changed since the
data set was written.
A Technical Support hot fix for Release 8.1 TSLEVEL TS1M0 for this
issue is available at:

This problem is also fixed in Release 8.2.
