Problem Note 19606: SAS time value with NLTIMAP informat returns missing value in FSEDIT and
FSVIEW windows
If you modify a value of a column that has the NLTIMAP informat in the
FSEDIT or FSVIEW window, the column might be assigned a missing value.
You will see this with any time value you enter in a row that is either
new or existing. For example, if you enter a time value such as
17:30:00, a missing value will be returned after you press Enter.
To circumvent this problem, use the VIEWTABLE window to modify the
values in this column. Another alternative is to use another informat
such as the TIME. informat for SAS time values in the FSEDIT or FSVIEW
window.
Please note that when using the NLTIMAP informat for data entry in any
window, including the VIEWTABLE window, the Form Viewer or Table Viewer
controls in a SAS/AF Frame entry, or the FSEDIT or FSVIEW windows, you
have to enter the leading zeros for a time value such as 08:22:00 (8:22
AM). If you don't include the leading zero, a missing value is returned.
The NLTIMAP informat requires this. The behavior is by design and is not
related to the problem in the FSEDIT and FSVIEW windows described above.
