Usage Note 19540: Output window might not automatically open if INITCMD invokes SAS/AF
application
If you execute a SAS/AF application with -INITCMD, specified in the SAS
config file or on the SAS command, the Output window might not
automatically pop open if you execute code that generates output from a
SUBMIT block. This is true even if autopop is turned on for the Output
window.
The INITCMD system option suppresses the Log, Output, Program Editor,
and Explorer windows when you enter a SAS/AF application, so that the
SAS/AF application is the first window you see. The suppressed windows
do not appear, but you can activate them. Once you have opened the
Output window one time, it will automatically open thereafter.
To activate the Output window the first time, you can set a flag in the
INIT label of your SCL program and use CALL EXECCMD to call the Output
window when the flag is set. For example,
INIT:
flag=1;
return;
PUSHBUTTON1:
submit continue;
proc print data=sashelp.class;
run;
endsubmit;
if flag=1 then
do;
flag=0;
call execcmd('output;');
end;
return;
