When you use the Publishing Wizard to publish a SAS Web Report Studio report in SAS Enterprise Guide 4.1, the following message might display:

Enterprise Guide was unable to locate a connection to a Web Report Studio (WRS) publishing web service from this repository. Either this feature was not turned on in WRS, or the web service is not running. Please contact your System Administrator.

The problem is the Report Web Services is not enabled. To prevent or correct this problem:

1. Open the SAS Web Report Studio deployment html file.
   (C:\Program Files\SAS\SASWebReportStudio\3.1\deployment.html)
2. Scroll to the bottom of the file and search for the text string "Defining a profile in metadata." Verify that a SAS profile has been defined in the metadata. (Omitting this step is the most common mistake that users make when they attempt to publish a report.)
3. Continue with the next section of the deployment html, "Enabling Report Web Services."
4. Make sure that SAS services application and Tomcat are running before you execute the configureReportWebServicesScripts.bat file.
5. Restart Tomcat. In some cases, you might need to reboot the system.
6. You must log in to SAS Web Report Studio one time after you start Tomcat (without using localhost in the URL) in order to create the metadata that SAS Enterprise Guide will be searching for, such as, http://myhostname.xxx.com:8080/SASWebReportStudio.
