Problem Note 16658: Code points did not transcode error when saving code using SAS
Enterprise Guide
An error similar to the following may occur when exporting code from
Enterprise Guide to a server:
An error occured saving the file.
[Error] Some code points did not transcode.
The error will most likely occur if the SAS server is Unix based. In
some cases, the code may contain special characters that are not
recognizable by the SAS server. In other cases the code will appear to
be normal.
If the code can be narrowed down to specific lines of code or comments,
then manually retyping the offending lines and deleting the original
lines will resolve the transcode errors.
Alternatively, open the code in Enterprise Guide and copy it by
selecting Edit => Select All => Edit => Copy. Next open Microsoft Word
and paste the copied text into a document. Then copy it by selecting
Edit => Select All, Edit => Copy. Back in Enterprise Guide, select File
=> New => Code and use Edit => Paste to paste the copied code into the
Code window. Close the Code window and select File => Export code to the
SAS Server. The save will be successful without any errors.
