Usage Note 15762: Microsoft Web Browser OLE Component is not readily available in SAS/AF
In certain versions of Microsoft Windows, the Microsoft Web Browser OLE
Control is not automatically registered. To register the component as an
OLE Control follow these steps:
1. Select Run... from the Microsoft Windows Start menu.
2. Enter the command REGEDIT; please see important note below.
3. Using the FIND feature of the EDIT menu, locate the string
"microsoft web browser". Be sure to select the option to match
whole string only.
4. When the resulting registration is located, right-click in the
left-hand window pane and select New -> Key.
5. The name of the new key should be "Insertable". You do not need
to specify any other information.
6. Reboot the machine.
In some cases this will not make the control available. If this is the
case, you can try to manually add the control file from the
%SYSTEM_ROOT%\system32 directory by using the "Add Control" button and
selecting the file shdocvw.dll.
Warning: Always back up your registry before you make any changes. For
assistance see Windows Help, Microsoft documentation or the Microsoft
Windows website. SAS is not responsible for problems that may arise
should you choose to edit the Windows registry. Changes in the registry
can render your system unusable and may require a reinstall of the
operating system.
