Problem Note 14226: Enterprise Guide prompts for credentials when connecting to SAS
Workspace server using Open Metadata Repository
Currently in Enterprise Guide 3.0, you are prompted for credentials when
connecting to the SAS Workspace server when using the open metadata
repository. Credentials should be recognized through the open metadata
repository and read back to Enterprise Guide to prevent the login
prompts when the logins already exist.
A resolution for this is available with Enterprise Guide 3.02. With
this upgrade, when the metadata server and the workspace server are in
the same authentication domain, there will be no prompting. This will
also mean that there will be not be an opportunity to connect to the
workspace with a different identity unless a connection is made to the
metadata as a different identity.
If the authorization domain is different then the metadata server,
credentials will not be passed to the object manager. The object manager
will attempt to determine the correct credentials based on the metadata
ID. If this fails, there will then be a prompt to specify the
credentials.
