Problem Note 14210: Application error in Select and Sort tab of Enterprise Guide Query
Builder
An application error occurs in Enterprise Guide Query Builder when
creating an empty query and selecting and unselecting columns to include
in the query on the SELECT and SORT tab. The steps shown below give a
example of how to recreate the problem. For example, if you follow
these steps,
1. use task wizard to "Create empty query"
2. choose "Add data" and select data such as sashelp.class
3. go to the tab labeled "Select and sort"
4. click on "Select all" and unselect all the columns
5. make Name a group variable and mark this one as selected
6. make Height an AVG (or SUM, MIN, MAX, etc.) column
but do not mark it as selected.
You will then receive the following error:
Error: Enterprise Guide has encountered an unexpected error.
If you select "Show Details" for more information, you will see a
listing of technical information including the following text:
System.NullReferenceException
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
