Problem Note 13998: PROC FAMILY does not recognize numeric TRAIT variables less than 8 bytes
long
If the TRAIT variable is defined as numeric variable of less than 8
bytes in length, then PROC FAMILY will generate the following:
ERROR: The value given in the AFFECTED= option of the TRAIT statement
does not appear in the data set.
To circumvent the problem, redefine the numeric variable with length 8.
