Problem Note 13372: DDE incorrectly outputs data to Excel using PUT statements with line
pointers
Using DDE with line pointers in SAS Version 8 or higher produces
different results than it did in SAS Release 6.12. The line pointers are
being ignored in SAS Version 8 and higher. The behaviour is inconsistent
and the results may vary each time the program is executed. For example,
the first time the program is executed using a line pointer of #2 on the
PUT statement, data may be written to row 2 and the next time it's
either not written at all or written to row 3 or 4 in Excel.
