Usage Note 13222: Error: User does not have permission to perform this action using
Promotion & Replication
The following error may be encountered when promoting and replicating
Metadata.
ERROR: The user does not have permission to perform this action.
This error occurs when the userid being used to update the Metadata does
not have full unrestricted Metadata access on the target server.
To correct the problem, follow these steps:
1.) The userid account needs to be defined as follows:
On the Source Server - The userid account needs to be a
restricted admin user. This id should be defined in the Source
AdminUsers.txt file without an asterisk in front of the id.
On the Target Server - The userid account needs to be an
unrestricted admin user. This id should be defined in the
Target AdminUsers.txt file with an asterisk in front of the id.
2.) Stop and Restart the servers for these definitions to
take affect.
By making the userid account an unrestricted admin user on the Target
server, the id should have the necessary Metadata permissions to perform
the PROC METADATA commands.
For complete details on using Promotion and Replication, see the SAS
9.1.3 Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide.
