Usage Note 12542: Default behavior of multi-source variable updates is unexpected
The default behavior of a variable update expression, when multiple data
sources are involved, is to look at the first available data source and
decide whether to check the detail transaction checkbox based on the
first data source.
If the first data source is not used, then by default the detail
transaction checkbox is checked. This is further complicated each time
you need to modify the update expression as a single click in the
expression (which you can see even though these are not detail
expressions) causes the expression to disappear.
You must then uncheck the detail transaction checkbox to get them back.
This will occur each time you open the variable for edit.
