Problem Note 11498: Setinit Warning has incorrect hardcoded "30 days" in text
SAS customers in the United States who have not renewed their contracts
will receive earlier warnings that their software is about to expire
as stated in SAS note #010340 .
The WARNING message produced after SAS initialization correctly states
the number of days until the product expires. A sample of this
warning:
WARNING: Your system is scheduled to expire on January 30, 2004,
which is 43 days from now. Please contact your SAS Software
Representative to obtain your updated SETINIT information.
The SAS System will no longer function on or after that date.
A secondary warning is produced each time a PROC or DATA Step
is excuted and incorrectly states that the product will expire
within "30 days". This value is hardcoded in text of the warning
message and will be corrected in a future release.
An example of this secondary warning message is:
WARNING: The xxxx product with which yyyyy is associated will expire
within 30 days. Please contact your SAS installation
representative to have it renewed.
Beginning, in SAS 9.1.3, the secondary warning message will look like:
WARNING: The xxxxx product with which yyyy is associated
will be expiring soon, and is currently in warning mode to
indicate this upcoming expiration. Most typically this warning
period runs for 45 days. Please run PROC SETINIT to obtain more
information.
