Usage Note 10509: ERROR: CLI error trying to establish a connection when attempting to use
multiple DB2 connections in SAS 9
The following error message may be issued when using DB2 version 8 and
SAS 9.0 (and SAS 9.1) with multiple connections to DB2.
ERROR: CLI error trying to establish connection: [IBM][CLI Driver]
SQL0902C A system error (reason code = "") occurred. Subsequent SQL
statements cannot be processed. SQLSTATE=58005
This problem occurs on Unix and PC systems using DB2 version 8.1.0.8
with SAS 9.0.
The following steps demonstrate how to replicate this problem:
1. Create an autoexec.sas containing the following LIBNAME statement:
libname db_core db2 userdb2usr password=db2usr1 database=db2db
schema=db2schema;
2. Invoke SAS 4 (sometimes 5) times using the same autoexec.
To resolve this problem, apply DB2 V8 FixPack2:
