Usage Note 10340: Customers to receive SETINIT expiration date Warning notice earlier
SAS customers in the United States who have not renewed their contracts
will receive earlier warnings that their software is about to expire.
SAS will begin sending the expiration warning 45 days after the contract
term ends instead of waiting until the 62-day mark. Warnings are
displayed in the SAS Log that the SETINIT is about to expire. This
policy change, which goes into effect 7/1/2003, applies only to U.S.
customers.
This gives customers more advance notice so they can avoid problems they
might encounter with the software if the SETINIT expires. The earlier
notification also aligns the U.S. policy more closely with that of SAS
Canada and SAS International, which displays warning messages at the
30-day mark.
Customers will receive the new SETINITs starting July 1 as they license
new products, get renewal SETINITs, or in some cases, upgrade or
redesignate hardware.
