Usage Note 23592: I have a Client installation of SAS 9.1 Foundation on my local PC. My log contains messages about my license expiring. How can I update my license?
In SAS 9.1 Foundation, when you install an Admin image, you can choose to either install a Client or a Personal image. So, the Admin image is either an Admin image for a Client installation or an Admin image for a Personal installation.
The only way to update the SAS Installation Data (SID) for a Client installation is to use the SAS Administrator Wizard (SAW). You cannot use the SAS Renew Tool.
To update using the SAW, login as the System Administrator, and perform the following steps:
1. Navigate to the Admin Client image on the server (the default location is the \SAS Server\saw\ directory).
2. Run setup.exe.
3. Retrieve the SAS Installation Data from the Internet or from a file that has been previously saved to disk.
4. Once this is completed, try starting your SAS 9.1 Foundation software.
