Opening Session
Sunday, April 28, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
As the official welcome to SAS Global Forum 2013, this evening event sets for the stage for the days ahead. You will hear from Rick Mitchell, this year’s conference chair, as well as key members of the SAS Executive Team, including Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS.
Technology Connection and Keynote Presentation
Monday, April 29, 8:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Join us as Billy Beane, General Manager of the A's, describes how his unorthodox use of statistics led the A's –one of the worst teams in baseball with one of the lowest payrolls -- to five American League West division titles.
Striking unlikely parallels between baseball and business, Beane shares thoughts from his book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game and speaks about management, leadership and using undervalued assets to create and sustain a competitive advantage.
Presenters from SAS R&D will then offer a look at what’s new and share techniques to improve the way you use SAS. Plus, SAS will review the results of this year’s SASware Ballot.
