Workaround

Changing the screen resolution could result in text being truncated.

If you are running Windows 7, use the built-in magnifier (rather than increasing the screen resolution) to increase the text size of objects on the screen.

In the Reports dialog box, mnemonic keys are missing from the pop-up menu.

None

When you open the Properties dialog box for a report, JAWS does not announce that the focus is on the General tab. Instead, JAWS announces the name of the report.

None

On the SAS Favorites menu, JAWS does not announce that the pop-up menu is disabled for empty folders.

None

The toolbar of the Manage Content window contains several unlabeled buttons, so JAWS cannot announce these buttons.

In the toolbar of theManage Content window, the buttons are in this order:

  • Delete Button in the Manage Content Window (Delete)
  • Remove SAS Links button in the Manage Content Window (Remove SAS Links)
  • Find SAS Content Button in the Manage Content Window (Find SAS Content)
  • Add to Favorites Button in the Manage Content Window (Add to Favorites)
  • Properties Button in the Manage Content Window (Properties)

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

In the Manage Content window, JAWS does not announce the last three columns in the table.

The last three columns in the table are Worksheet, Date Modified, and Run Time.

In the Manage Content window, JAWS does not announce that you can select or deselect items in the table by using the spacebar.

Use the spacebar to select or deselect items in the table.

In the Manage Content window, JAWS does not announce the state (selected or deselected) of the check boxes in the table when you press the spacebar.

None

In the Reports dialog box, the panes that list the folders and reports that you can select are not labeled.

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

When you open a report in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office, the report opens in the report controls pane. At the top of the pane is an unlabeled drop-down list. Because this drop-down list is unlabeled, JAWS announces the selected value in the drop-down list.

If you are running SAS Add-In 7.1 or 7.12, use this workaround. If you have opened only one report, only one report name is available from the drop-down list. If you have opened other reports, additional names are available in this drop-down list. Use the up and down arrows to navigate through the items in the drop-down list. Press Enter to select a report.

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

In the report controls pane, JAWS does not announce several unlabeled buttons.

The buttons are in this order:

  • Refresh button in the Report Controls Pane (Refresh the Report)
  • Refresh the Report and Reset All Interactions to Default Values Button in the Report Controls Pane (Refresh the Report and Reset All Interactions to Their Default Values)
  • Find an Element Button in the Report Controls Pane (Find an Element in a Report)
  • Maximize the Selected Element Button in the Report Controls Pane (Maximize the Selected Element)
  • Display the Report in Full Screen Mode Button in the Report Controls Pane (Display the Report in Full Screen Mode)

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

In the Report Controls pane, JAWS does not announce the expand and collapse button.

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

Radio button controls do not work as expected. For example, pressing Tab moves you to the next radio button instead of the next control in the user interface.

To work with a radio button control in SAS Add-In 7.1 or 7.12 for Microsoft Office:

  • Press Tab to move to the next radio button.
  • Use the up and down arrows to change focus to the next radio button.
  • Press the spacebar to select a radio button.

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

If an option in the user interface includes a secondary link, JAWS incorrectly announces the label for the option. For example, open the Properties dialog box for a report. The Appearance tab contains the Always apply the SAS style to the results check box and a Learn More link. In this case, JAWS does not announce the label for the Always apply the SAS style to the results check box. Instead, JAWS announces the Learn More link.

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

In the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office Options dialog box, JAWS does not announce the labels for the edit fields for the Height and Width options in the graph controls.

In some dialog boxes, an edit field is not labeled, so JAWS announces edit field. For example, the Choose Data dialog box contains several edit fields, such as the edit field next to the Existing worksheet option. When JAWS encounters this field, it announces edit field.

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.13 for Microsoft Office.

When you tab through the options in the Choose Data dialog box, JAWS does not announce the label for the location of the Results button. Instead, JAWS announces that this is a button.

To workaround this issue in SAS Add-In 7.1 and 7.12 for Microsoft Office, use Shift + Tab to navigate backward to this button. Then JAWS announces the label.

Here are the names of these buttons in order: Recent, Favorites, Browse, Options, and Filters.

The Save dialog box that appears when you create a schedule is not announced and the content of the dialog box is not accessible.

To read the contents of the dialog box using JAWS OCR, press Insert+Spacebar. Press O, and then press W.

Here is the message in the dialog box: Some of the styles may not appear in Microsoft Office exactly as they appear in the Style Manager dialog. The reason for this is that Microsoft Excel is limited to 56 colors. When the results are opened, Microsoft Excel will match the colors in the results to the closest color available. Also, any images that are defined in the stylesheet are not supported by Microsoft Word or Excel.

When your focus is initially in the Program Editor, screen readers can read the text in the editor with normal reading keys. If you navigate away from and then back to the Program Editor, JAWS is silent while navigating the text editor.

Press Esc to move focus from the text editor to the toolbar. Then press Tab or Shift+Tab to return to the text editor.

When focus is in the Program Editor, you cannot use a keyboard shortcut to move to the toolbar.

Press Esc to move focus from the text editor to the toolbar. Then press Tab or Shift+Tab to return to the text editor.

You can press F6 or Control+Tab to move to other sections of the application.

Note: This issue is fixed in SAS Add-In 7.14 for Microsoft Office.

On the Variables tab in the Modify Data Source dialog box, JAWS does not announce if a variable is selected or not selected.

None

In the View SAS Data dialog box, JAWS does not announce the control that has initial focus.

Use Tab to navigate through the controls. JAWS reads the controls as they receive focus.

JAWS cannot read the data in the Column Properties dialog box.

None

When you click a button in the Ribbon, focus is moved to the document instead of the pane or control that opens.

Press F6 to navigate to the opened pane or control.
