SAS/Warehouse Administrator is the flagship product for the SAS intelligent warehousing solution. It empowers you to bring together data from any source, manage it, and turn the data into information that you need to make business decisions. SAS/Warehouse Administrator is the answer for IT professionals responsible for creating and managing organizational data warehousing efforts. It provides a customizable solution with a single point of control, making it easier to respond to the ever-changing needs of the business community.
SAS/Warehouse Administrator, Release 2.2, includes enhancements to the OLAP Data Store, the Process Library registration process, the metadata API, and the LDAP Security Interface. It also offers a more integrated solution for generating reports for use with SAS Enterprise Reporter. The "Getting Started" tutorial is now available from the SAS/Warehouse Administrator desktop for easier access.
Enhancements to the following components improve your warehousing solution and strenghten the ability of SAS/Warehouse Administrator to integrate with SAS enterprirse solutions.
- Using the LDAP Security Interface, you can define a security hierarchy for the data stores in a data warehouse. The security hierarchy provides controlled access to the data stores. This type of access control enhances the integration of SAS/Warehouse Administrator with enterprise integration solutions such as the Information Delivery Portal. In Release 2.2, the LDAP Security Interface is a fully supported production feature.
- The enhancements to the metadata API enable you define and save process information that you could not store before. Because this capability was added to the API, you can create and store metadata without the user interface. For example, you can store metadata about the SAS code used to locate, retrieve or generate a table, along with the table row and column information. These enhancements make the metadata API a powerful enabling tool for SAS solutions.
