Note: With Release 1.4, we renamed Strategic Vision Software to Strategic Performance Management.
Strategic Performance Management translates your strategy into actions that can be measured and monitored throughout your entire organization. The results are distributed via the Web, and provide your employees with the necessary information to analyze, collaborate and successfully implement that strategy. Strategic Performance Management provides a Map to build scorecards to track your organization's goals and processes, Knowledge Base tools to extract scorecard data from a SAS data warehouse, and a Compass to display your published scorecards on the Web.
The following highlights some of the enhancements that are available with Strategic Performance Management, Release 1.4.
Views
You can apply formulas to a summary row in a view, and you can change the order of rows within a level of the view hierarchy.
Images, Fonts, and Ranges
You can associate a numeric grade value with each subrange of a range, and use the
new .Range formula syntax to retrieve the grade values. This makes it possible to
implement grade-based scoring.
Formulas
Using the new IF function and related operators, you can write formulas that yield
different results depending on the truth value of a Boolean expression.
Using the new .Range syntax, you can retrieve the grade values that are associated
with subranges.
Scorecards
The ability to order and move scorecards in the scorecard tree has been enhanced.
Diagrams
Numerous diagram tools have been added, making it possible to draw free form objects,
customize data-driven objects, and embed images in a diagram. This enables
you to design diagrams of much greater flexibility and sophistication.
User Interface
The user interface of the Compass has been enhanced to make it more accessible.
Comment Manager
The Netscape Comment Manager can now be set up through the Basic Comment
Manager Wizard. You can also select whether to use ActiveX or Java when you set
up the Internet Explorer Comment Manager through the Basic Comment Manager
Wizard.
History
You can use an https:// address to specify a secure history server.
You can display data organized by fiscal year in the Compass.
You can use the Knowledge Base tools, including the LSA Administrator, on UNIX.
You can specify whether or not a user has permission to load data into the Map from the data source folder.
Data can be loaded manually through the Web Data Entry feature by using a Web browser.
