What's New Highlights
SAS/MDDB software provides online analytical processing (OLAP) capabilities within an integrated data warehouse environment. Also known as data "slicing and dicing," OLAP offers high-performance access to large amounts of summarized data for complex analysis and easy reporting.
Release 8.2 offers several key enhancements, including expanded administration capabilities for SAS Enterprise Guide users, expanded sorting support, improved virtual memory management, and the ability to store unformatted class variable values in all cases.
In addition, the new Version 8 MDDB unique count statistic (NUNIQUE) has significant performance improvements, which is always beneficial when you are dealing with large amounts of data. The NUNIQUE statistic can tell you how many unique visitors a Web site had or how many different patients visited a particular doctor.
