What's New Highlights
SAS/GIS software lets you combine digital maps (spatial data) with databases (attribute data) to provide business geographic solutions.
With Release 8.2, the GIS procedure's MAP ACTION statement has been changed to enable you to create, replace, and update actions, which are operations that are run interactively on selected features in the map window. Prior to this release, the only way to create or modify actions was interactively, by using the GIS graphical interface. This new capability greatly aids the creation of fully functional SAS/GIS maps in batch mode.
In addition, maps can now be displayed as a GIF image on a Web page by using the SAS Output Delivery System (ODS). If desired, polygonal areas can also be made clickable from the Web page and separate URLs can be associated with each clickable feature.
