MVS File Library Support
SAS libraries on OS/390 (MVS) are represented by a binary dataset rather than as a directory structure. Enterprise Guide 1.3 provides new support for navigating SAS data files on MVS, using a mechanism named bound libraries. Bound libraries appear and behave similar to other library objects within Enterprise Guide. However, they are displayed using the full dataset name rather than the eight-character SAS libname. They are also assigned and deassigned on demand (as they are used) to avoid MVS resource contention issues.
Since traditional MVS does not employ a hierarchical file system, many organizations have adopted naming conventions, using MVS qualifiers, to create a logical hierarchy for organizing data. Enterprise Guide (via the Administrator application) now allows you to configure multiple hierarchies using wildcard notation to simulate a virtual directory structure. This allows you to navigate the MVS file system as a series of logical folders and subfolders.

Enterprise Guide 1.3 addresses Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendment of 1998.

Copy and paste items from one project to another or within the same project
You can copy and paste (or drag and drop) items between two Enterprise Guide sessions or within the same Enterprise Guide session. This allows you to leverage work completed in one project within another project without having to go through the steps to recreate the work.

Navigate and drill through MDDB dimensions with multiple hierarchies
In Enterprise Guide 1.2, the viewer only supported drilling via the default Hierarchy drill path. Now, Enterprise Guide 1.3 provides the ability to navigate and drill-down the cubes dimension via the non-default hierarchy drill paths if additional hierarchies were defined.
Optimized performance with large cube data, both SAS and OLAP
Enterprise Guide 1.3 has performance enhancements for accessing OLE dB for OLAP cubes. This enhancement utilizes better client side caching mechanisms for large cubes.
Enhanced UI for selecting cubes from a catalogs and repositories
For OLAP providers with Catalog support, when connecting to a provider, the new Enterprise Guide 1.3 File Open Dialogs now enumerate the Catalogs defined in the Metabase, and lists the cubes within each.

Change the metadata repository and default repository server within Enterprise Guide
You can now use Enterprise Guide to perform some functions that were limited to the Administrator application in previous releases. For example, you can select a different metadata repository (which holds information about your servers and libraries). Also, you can select to use a different logical SAS server as your default server for submitting code and analyzing local PC data.
Since these administrative functions are now available within Enterprise Guide, customers that wish to exclude the Administrator application from the client installations may do so, further restricting the ability to add and modify server definitions to those people with proper authorization.

Support for Parameterized Queries
You can add parameters to your filters and expressions within a query, allowing you to use the same query definition to generate different sets of relevant results. These parameters can also be specified using Enterprise Guide's automation interface, so you can write batch scripts that generate multiple different reports using the same project and query definition.
Improved User Interface for CASE Statement
A new user interface, located under 'Replace Values' in the Query dialog's 'Select and Sort' properties, provides a point-and-click way to generate the SQL CASE statement, allowing you to re-code the values within a column based on a discrete value or range of values.
Enhanced "Join" Support in Query
The Enterprise Guide 1.3 Query Builder supports multiple outer joins, ability to specify join sequence, and support for joining up to 32 tables.
