Define a Summary Report

A summary report is a cube that is generated from the Profitability Management client for later viewing in SAS Web Report Studio.

  1. Activate the Reports workspace, and select a model.
  2. Click the Summary Reports tab.
  3. Click New summary report definition....

    The New Summary Report Definition window opens.
  1. Name the summary report
  2. Select a report hierarchy to determine what is in the report.
  3. Select a report layout to determine the appearance of the report.

    Note: After you select a report hierarchy, the drop-down list of report layouts lists only those layouts belonging to the selected report hierarchy.
  4. Click Next.
  1. Select the dimensions and levels to be included, and then click Next.

    Note: The fewer dimensions and drill-down levels that you select, the smaller the summary cube will be. Smaller summary cubes have better response time.
  1. Select the measures to include in the report.
    VALUE is included by default. All numeric properties are available.
  1. Click Finish. The new report is added to the list of summary reports.
  2. Select the new report in the list of summary reports, and then click Generate cube.


  3. The cube is generated.
