Accessibility Features for SAS Mobile BI 2.1 for iPad

Overview

SAS Visual Analytics has been tested with assistive technology tools. It includes accessibility and compatibility features that improve the usability of the product for users with disabilities, with exceptions noted below. These features are related to accessibility standards for electronic information technology that were adopted by the U.S. Government under Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (2008 draft proposal initiative update). Applications are also tested against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, part of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C). For detailed information about the accessibility of this product, send e-mail to accessibility@sas.com or call SAS Technical Support.

Accessibility Issue Workaround
After opening an XML file, no part of the screen automatically receives focus. Continue normal screen navigation to have voice over read the page.
In a table-style report object, voice over reads the entire row instead of only the currently selected cell. No workaround is available.
The contents of the My Portfolio screen appear to be a disjointed set of controls. However, the screen actually contains the reports that have been downloaded. VoiceOver users should drag their finger around the screen to find the name of each report and then split tap or double tap to open each report.
When deleting a report, there is a visual cue indicating that a specific report has been selected for deletion. However, that selected state is not communicated to voice-over users. To delete reports, voice-over users must first select the report to delete and then examine the state of the Delete button. If the Delete button is active, a report is selected and it will be deleted when the Delete button is activated. However, it is not possible to confirm which report will be deleted using voice over.

Note: To quickly access the Delete button, use the four-finger tap on the top of the screen.

If you have set Large Text to On in the Accessibility settings, the setting is not inherited in the SAS Mobile BI app. To make text larger, use the Zoom accessibility feature.
When using VoiceOver in the Library, the quick, two-finger Z pattern fails to dismiss the Properties window for a selected report. To dismiss the window, navigate to the Cancel button and double-tap the button.
When using VoiceOver and you open a report, VoiceOver can read the buttons, but not the content of the report. No workaround is available.
When using VoiceOver in the Library, the two-finger flick up gesture announces all visible items, from top to bottom, except the View switch. Also, when the focus is on the View switch, the single-finger flick up and single-finger flick down gestures do not change the switch setting. No workaround is available.
