Opening a Server Data Set

IML Studio enables you to open SAS data sets stored on SAS Workspace Servers. IML Studio can open the following types of SAS data sets:

• Native SAS Data Files
• Interface SAS Data Files
• DATA Step Views
• PROC SQL Views

To open a data set stored on a SAS server

1. On the File menu, point to Open, and then click Server Data Set.
   -or-
   Press CTRL+SHIFT+O.
   -or-
   Click the Open Server Data Set button () on the toolbar.

   IML Studio will display the Open Server Data Set dialog box.

2. In the control SAS Workspace Servers, navigate to, and select, the data set you want to open.
3. Click OK.

IML Studio will open the data set and display it in a data table. Once you open a data set from a server, you can save the data table back to the server by clicking the Save button () on the toolbar.
