Defining a Connection to a DataFlux Authentication Server

You cannot use the Administration riser bar in DataFlux Data Management Studio to add a connection to a SAS Metadata Server.

The Administration riser bar in DataFlux Data Management Studio is used only to define a connection to a DataFlux Authentication Server. Then you can use the server to create and administer users and groups in DataFlux Web Studio. For information, see the "Working with Users and Groups" chapter in the DataFlux Web Studio 2.5: Installation and Configuration Guide.

NoteNote: DataFlux Authentication Server is only used in conjunction with DataFlux Web Studio.

It is assumed that an Authentication Server has been installed and that you know the domain name or IP address of the server. Perform the following steps to add a connection to this server:

  1. Click the Administration riser.
  2. Select the Authentication Servers folder.
  3. In the server information pane on the right, click the New Authentication Server Connection icon in the tool bar. The Add Authentication Server Definition dialog displays.
  4. Enter a server name, description, domain name or IP address, and port for the server.
  5. Click Test Connection to verify your connection. Enter any required credentials.
  6. If the connection is successful, click OK to save your changes.
