Overview of the Administration Riser Bar

Administrators can use the Administration riser bar to maintain SAS Federation Servers; DataFlux Authentication Servers; macro variables; Quality Knowledge Bases; Reference Sources, and DataFlux repositories.

The navigation tree on the left enables you to select various kinds of items. The information pane on the right displays information about the selected item. In the previous figure, the Quality Knowledge Bases folder is selected, and two Quality Knowledge Bases are displayed on the right. Most items in this tree have special controls on the left and right that enable you to perform tasks that kind of item.

The navigation tree contains the following folders:

• Authentication Servers - This is the main administrative interface for DataFlux Authentication Servers. You can see a list of Authentication Servers in the Administration Pane. There, you can add new servers, open an existing server for maintenance, edit a server definition, mark a default server, and remove a server.
• Macro Files - Enables you to add or edit macro variables in the default macro.cfg file or in other files in the custom macro folder (such as C:\Program Files (x86)\DataFlux\DMStudio\studio1\etc\macros). You cannot add new files in this interface, but you can maintain macro variables in existing files. You can add new macros, edit an existing macro, reset a macro, and remove a macro in a file. The file path associated with each selected macro variable is displayed at the bottom of the information panel on the right. For more information, see Using Macro Variables.
• Quality Knowledge Bases - Enables you to manage Quality Knowledge Bases (QKBs). A QKB is a collection of files that store data and logic that define data management operations. SAS software products reference a QKB when performing data management operations on your data. You can add new QKBs, select an active QKB, and edit the contents of a QKB. For more information, see Managing Quality Knowledge Bases.
• Reference Sources - Enables you to manage reference sources. A reference source is a third-party database that can be used to verify addresses or other elements in your data. Some components in Data Management Studio, such as the Verify Individual US/Canadian Addresses dialog, depend on reference sources that are registered here. You can register the physical path to reference sources that have been installed at your site. You can also mark a default reference source, remove a reference source, and verify individual US or Canadian addresses if the appropriate reference source is installed. Currently, the supported references sources are USPS Data, Canada Post Data, Geo+Phone Data, and World Data. You cannot use the standard features in Data Management Studio to directly access or modify these reference sources. For more information, see Using Reference Sources.
• Repository Definitions - This is the main administrative interface for DataFlux Data Management Platform repositories. You can see a list of repository definitions in the Administration Pane.
