Case Definition Head Node

Begins processing in case definitions.

Used in:

• Case Definitions

Properties

Surface - Check the box to allow the definition to be available to external applications.

Unicode casing - Check the box to use Unicode casing rules instead of the legacy casing.

Output Case - Select the type of casing operation this definition will perform:

• lowercase, for example, "john smith"
• uppercase, for example, "JOHN SMITH"
• propercase, for example, "John Smith"
• custom - allows you to specify different casing options, for example, specifying a lowercase first character, like a lowercase "i" or "e", an uppercase second character, then lowercase for the remaining word

Extraction Definition Head Node

The first node of an extraction definition shows the name of the definition. In this node you can choose to extract substrings into multiple tokens to resolve ambiguities in the input string.

Check the box to allow the definition to be available to external applications.

Allow extraction of words into multiple tokens

Check this box to extract overlapping segments of the input string into multiple tokens when they are attributed to multiple patterns. This functionality helps you resolve ambiguities in the input string. For example, let’s suppose we pass the input string “gold ring” to an extraction definition that searches for text to insert into the following tokens:

• Colors
• Materials
• Additional info

The input word “gold” could be associated with the tokens Colors and Materials. By default, the extraction definition finds the best single token for this word. It this case it could be beneficial to apply the word to two tokens.

Selecting this check box can lengthen processing time.

Gender Analysis Definition Head Node

The first node of a gender analysis definition shows the name of the definition and defines the available genders.

Properties

Table with 3 columns:

• 1st column - whether that gender is the default gender
• 2nd column - the gender abbreviation
• 3rd column - the meaning of the gender abbreviation

Notes

Newly-created gender analysis definitions automatically have M (Male), F (Female), and U (Unknown) genders populated in this node, with U being the default.

Identification Analysis Definition Head Node

The first node of an identification analysis definition shows the name of the definition and lists the available classes of entities.

Properties

The list of possible identities is entered here.

Table with 3 columns:

• 1st column: check box if this identity is the default
• 2nd column: abbreviation for identity
• 3rd column: meaning of abbreviation

Language Guess Definition Head Node

The first node of a language guess definition. Shows the name of the definition.

Properties

Use bookends - Check this box to treat the beginning and end of a line as special characters.

Window size - The number of characters in an N-Gram.

Scoring bias - Whether N-Gram or Regex searches will have more weight in the final score.

Locale Guess Definition Head Node

The first node of a locale guess definition. Shows the name of the definition.

Select the last locale if no score could be computed - Check this box to choose a response to inconclusive computations.

Match Definition Head Node

Begins processing in match definitions. Forensics.

Weight scores by sensitivity

Select this check box to display all of the scores for this match definition with a weighted value: displayedScore = baseScore x (currentSensitivity/100).

If any node in the group matches the input, "Changes were applied". Otherwise, the message will be, "No changes were applied".
