Error Handling

Introduction

The SAS/C Debugger writes messages when it encounters syntax or specification errors and other conditions, such as an invalid debugger file. Some error messages are displayed in the Log window; however, as described in Pop-Up and Message Windows: Error Processing, messages are also displayed in the Popup and Message windows.

For syntax and specification errors, depending on whether the issued command is an argument to an on command (either a value of CMD or part of CMD-LIST), the debugger takes various actions that include writing a message to identify the error.
