SAS Deployment Wizard is the deployment tool used for the installation of SAS Scalable Performance Data Server software. SAS Scalable Performance Data Client software is included with Base SAS.
To support strong encryption, it is strongly recommended that Base SAS be installed and run on the same machine/partition as SAS Scalable Performance Data Server.
To keep pace with changes to third-party technologies, SAS has adopted a general policy of supporting one or more baseline major versions, subsequent minor updates, and subsequent major versions for each officially supported operating system. Only the supported baseline major versions are listed in this document. As part of this policy, SAS strongly encourages customers to install the latest operating-system service packs.
The SAS Scalable Performance Data Server can be installed with a SAS installation, or stand-alone in its own home (and on a different machine than the clients).
Base SAS is not included. It is required for installation of Client Tier software, but not for the installation of SAS Scalable Performance Data Server.
Base SAS is the prerequisite for the installation of SAS Scalable Performance Data Server Client software. SAS Scalable Performance Data Client software is included with Base SAS.
SAS Management Console is included with Base SAS.
SAS Scalable Performance Data Server Plug-in for SAS Management Console is included with Base SAS and is required for client access to SAS Scalable Performance Data Server using the SAS Scalable Performance Data Server Plug-in.
The SAS Scalable Performance Data Server Plug-in comes with SAS Scalable Performance Data Server Plug-in for SAS Management Console, which is a Java Application. It does not have to be installed on the same machine as SAS Scalable Performance Data Server.
The SAS Scalable Performance Data Server Libname Engine is included with SAS Foundation software.
