What's New |
The SAS Information Delivery Portal 4.2 includes a number of general enhancements, a new user preference, and changes to navigator portlets.
For information about the new features and enhancements in the SAS Information Delivery Portal 4.3, see What's New in SAS Information Delivery Portal 4.3.
The Alerts portlet has been renamed the Stored Process Alerts portlet. This change avoids possible confusion with a new general-purpose alerts portlet that is included with the SAS Enterprise BI Server package.
To comply with a stronger security model, the portal no longer has a Public Kiosk. All portal users must be authenticated.
Some user interface elements, such as icons and the logon page, have been modified for uniformity with other SAS applications.
The Options menu has been modified. Various portal tools have been cascaded under the Tools menu item to make the Options menu smaller and easier to use.
The portal uses a new default theme that is consistent with the theme used by other Web applications, such as SAS Web Report Studio.
Depending on the software that has been installed, the portal uses SAS Web Report Studio instead of SAS Web Report Viewer to display reports. When the portal displays reports with SAS Web Report Studio, users who are authorized can edit reports from the portal.
By default, the portal uses a new SAS Content Server instead of the Xythos WebFile Server to manage files.
Sticky pages are now called Persistent pages.
Default values for package sort order and page navigation can be set by your administrator.
Users can set a preference to sort publication packages in either ascending or descending order by creation date.
Users can also specify the sort order for packages in a publication channel that has been added to a Collection portlet. The setting here overrides the user preference setting.
In compliance with the new SAS metadata model, navigator portlets show a default location that points to a new SAS Folders tree. Reports, information maps, and other SAS content can be stored in this folder or in its subfolders.
The Personal Repository, Results, and WebDAV navigator portlets display a WebDAV location for their contents. These portlets do not show the SAS Folders location.
The Tree Navigator portlet shows both the SAS Folders and the WebDAV locations.
