What's New |
SAS Analytics Accelerator 1.2 for Teradata enables in-database processing for a set of core functions with the goals of reducing data movement between the SAS System and the database and taking advantage of database processing power. The set of core functions includes SAS procedures from the following products:
Each procedure has been modified to perform critical functions inside the database. Each procedure generates SQL code—some of which depends on proprietary SAS functions that are installed in the database. The procedure syntax and output for in-database processing is identical to the syntax and output for conventional SAS processing in most cases. In those cases, existing procedure steps in SAS programs can run in-database without modification.
These in-database procedures do not support the full set of options available in the SAS System. Together with the in-database Base SAS procedures, they can be used for a variety of analytics tasks, including data aggregation and summarization, dimension reduction, and linear and logistic model building and scoring.
SAS Analytics Accelerator 1.2 for Teradata is a separate product that requires the SAS/ACCESS Interface to Teradata in addition to the respective underlying SAS analytics product and its prerequisites. SAS Analytics Accelerator 1.2 for Teradata also requires Teradata 13 with Global and Persistent Memory (GLOP) feature support (consult Teradata Support for the specific database version).
